Accomplishments
- Founder of the Pitt Community College Symphony Orchestra
- Introduced and promoted the concept of the orchestra to college administrators
- Collaborated with college administrators to secure funding and logistical support
- Built and staffed a full symphony orchestra comprised of students and community members
- Developed audience building strategies that attract large and growing audiences for concerts ranging from 600 – 1000 guests
- Directed successful annual fundraiser concerts for Symphony of Hope, raising thousands of dollars for cancer research
- Assistant Conductor, music librarian and equipment supervisor on the ECU Symphony Orchestra’s 1999 European tour
- Premiered works by composers of various styles
- Reformed and maintained the ECU Symphony Orchestra’s music library
- Redesigned the online Music Appreciation course for the North Carolina Community College Systems Virtual Learning Center, which is used by colleges throughout the state
- Created the American Music course at Pitt Community College and Roanoke-Chowan Community College for online and traditional classes
